NHF Welcomes New Board Members

National Horticulture Foundation (NHF) is proud to welcome new board members to its team. Each bring with them years of industry experience and will join in defining NHF’s roadmap for the next 30 years of service to the industry.

New Board of Directors include:

  • George Hackney, Hackney Nursery Co., Quincy, FL;

  • Mike Marshall, Marshall Tree Farm, Morriston, FL;

  • Sandy Stein, The Jungle Nursery, Miami, FL;

  • Wayne Mercer Mercer Botanicals, Inc., Apopka, FL;

Ex-officio Members serving in UF/IFAS Advisory positions:

  • Liz Felter, Mid-Florida Research and Education Center, Apopka, FL

  • John Peterson, UF- Environmental Horticulture, Gainesville, FL

  • Roger Kjelgren, Mid-Florida Research and Education Center, Apopka, FL

To assemble this great team, NHF sought individuals who recognize their responsibility to be a good steward of the Foundation’s funds. After all, it’s this conservative approach which, over the years, has provided the financial means to support key ways for enhancing the development of the green industry.

NHF board members, through their involvement in mentoring, helping students to achieve their goals, or providing support for needed industry research, are committed to making a difference.
